Iron X

We use Iron X to remove orange spots. This size bottle should be adequate to clean your car twice. This is the size we prefer. Here’s a link to Amazon where you can check the price. Here's a link to Amazon.

Iron X - 4 Liter Refill!

BARGAIN!!! If you are the Sam’s Club kind of person who recognizes the value of buying in bulk, then, you might prefer this size. Be sure to buy a smaller size with the Iron X spray bottle. Here's a link to check the price on Amazon.

Iron X - Lemon Scent!!!

Iron X is also available in a lemon scent. Some claim that lemon is a scent that gives you energy. Not sure about that, but it might be more appealing. Remember, like the article says, be sure to buy the Iron X sprayer. Check the Amazon price here.

PPE 8 mil Nitrile Gloves

You DO NOT want to have the Iron X odor on your hands for a few days after washing your car! These gloves offered both odor and chemical protection from the active ingredients in Iron X and other rail dust cleaners. I’ve learned to wear gloves every time! Spongy Cleaning Mitts

These are the car washing mitts that we routinely use. My wife found these on Amazon. They work great! They are soft and hold the water well while washing away the purple after cleaning. Here's a link to Spongy Mits on Amazon

These nuts won’t make your car any cleaner! We just like them! 🙂

What else might I need to apply Iron X safely?

  • The >2500 psi pressure washer

The >2500 psi pressure washer helps to force the loosened iron particles from the surface of the paint. I like to use the pressure washer before the sponge because I’m concerned that the tiny iron particles could scratch my paint when I run the damp sponge across the painted surface of the car. Also, the volume of water from the pressure washer will remove any purple liquid that has seeped into cracks and crevices on the surface of the car, such as behind logo’s or door handles. Here's a link to a pressure washer that I like on Amazon.

  • Spongy car washing mitts

Spongy car washing mitts are a great alternative to “a damp sponge” listed in the Iron X directions. These mits will hold a lot of water, which helps to flush away any particles that may have been loosened by the Iron X treatment. I like this spongy car washing mitt. Not sure where my wife bought it, but I found one like it on Amazon. Here's a link to spongy car washing mitts on Amazon.

  • Spare towels

Spare towels are helpful as well. Old towels from your bathroom will work. However, these are what the pro’s use: CARCAREZ Microfiber Car Wash Drying Towels Professional Grade Premium Microfiber Towels (for Car 380 GSM 16 in.x 16 in. Pack of 5 Red) I like to towel dry my car or truck after washing. So, I have a few of these old towels lying around for this purpose. You can get these cheap at a department store if you happen to catch a sale. The towels dampen from the water left as the car dries. The towels provide some mechanical means to remove any stubborn spots left behind. In my experience, I’ve found that Iron X does all the “heavy lifting” of spot removal. But, I feel better if I use the towel for one last rub to be sure all orange spots have been removed! Here's a link to enexpensive towels on Amazon.
