How much Iron X should I buy?

In Uncategorized by Spot Hater

It’s hard to tell how far one bottle of Iron X will go.   Is 500ml enough? Do I need a smaller bottle? Two 500ml bottles?

How much Iron X is needed to treat one truck?   One 500 ml bottle of Iron X is plenty to treat one full size, four door, F-150 with a Leer Cap.   There should almost be enough left over to treat the truck a second time.   If in doubt, buy a bit more than you need.

How much Iron X is needed to treat one car?   In my experience, one 500 ml bottle of Iron X is plenty to treat one full size, four door, car almost three times.    The spray feature creates a fine mist that coats the surface of the car very well.   This fine mist is adequate to remove the orange spots (fallout, rail dust, etc.) This fine mist helps to ensure adequate buy minimal use of Iron X.

What if I double up?  Even applying a double layer of the fine mist to ensure coverage will not make you run out of Iron X.  When I apply Iron X, I try to apply an even coat of the fine mist across the painted surface of my truck and car.  However, I’m not a robot. It is very possible that I could miss a spot or two. So, I routinely apply a layer, then, apply a second layer of Iron X.   This ensures that I don’t miss any little dots and discover them after I’ve put away all of my cleaning materials.

Be sure to buy a bottle of Iron X WITH the sprayer!!!!

The secret to controlled application is in the sprayer provided with the bottle.  Iron X is routinely sold with a sprayer.   The sprayer simply threads onto the bottle like Windex or any other cleaner.  The sprayer applies a thin layer of Iron X across the painted surface of your vehicle.  The manufacturer of Iron X, Car Pro, does not provide a sprayer designed to ensure that you use the full bottle for treatment of one car.  Instead, they seem to balance the amount of Iron X necessary to treat the paint without an over volume of Iron X liquid on your paint.

But, that’s just my opinion!    I checked a few message boards to get other people’s opinions.  Here is what a few other people stated about using Iron X:

How does this compare to other fall out removers?

It seems as though Iron X uses a spray applicator that uses a smaller amount of Iron X.   For example, when I compare to my Windex bottle, or my shower cleaner, I’m surprised how little Iron X is used.

Should I buy the bulk size and use a spray bottle from a box store?

You could probably use any type of spray applicator.  However, somewhere, there is an engineer who evaluated the right spray applicator.   Somewhere, a scientist identified the proper droplet size adequate to remove orange spots (fallout, rail dust, etc.)   When I think about using another spray bottle, I imagine that engineer or scientist cringing! So, I’d recommend using the fine mist applicator sold with Iron X.
